The Centre

Our Shrewsbury sports centre offers a whole range of sports for everyone. Whether keeping / getting fit is on your to-do list, trying a new sport, or simply making new friends and socialising, our London Road facility caters for all.
Sundays have become especially popular as we are now open until 9pm every Sunday, so why not come along and try one of the many sporting activities we offer?

Sports Halls

We currently have two large sports halls available for hire in Shrewsbury, which are already used for a wide range of sports and classes such as Basketball, Badminton, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Gymnastics, 5-a-side Football, Futsal, Circuit training and more!
The sports halls are also available to hire for events, whether they be sporting or not. Our larger hall can comfortably hold 200 people.

Full Size 3G Pitch

Our 3G pitch in Shrewsbury is our most recent addition to the facilities and is probably our most popular area. The state-of-the-art 3G surface is suitable for football, rugby training and is full size so it’s perfect for fixtures. One massive benefit of the 3G is that you don’t have to use the whole pitch; so if you’re a local football / rugby / hockey team wanting to train in the winter and don’t need the whole pitch, you can book a half or a third and therefore reduce the costs to suit your needs.

Fitness Suite

Located in the bottom complex, we have a modern gym / training centre. Our Shrewsbury gym caters for everyone – sports teams, weightlifters, long distance runners and anyone looking to keep fit or get in shape. There’s a range of cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines and stationary bikes. There is a free weights area suitable to use dumbbells, barbells and kettlebells as well as a machine-assisted area. With memberships starting as low as £14 a month, make 2016 your year and sign up!

Parties

If you want to book a special occasion like a children’s birthday party, you can use one of our two sports halls. We have a choice of two bouncy castles, which are very popular for younger birthday parties / events. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink, and we’ll provide two members of staff that will keep the kids entertained for the full two hours.

Athletics Track

We are lucky to have a super modern athletics track at London Road Sports Centre. It is a full 400 metres, six lanes all the way round with an eight-lane 100-metre straight. We also have two long and triple jump pits, throwing cage, javelin run, shot putt gravel trap and high jump bed!
The best part is it is all available to hire for as little as £30 per hour. So whether you’re an avid athlete looking for somewhere new to train or thinking of starting out, our track is the place to be in Shrewsbury. We are home to Shrewsbury Athletics Club, who are always looking for new members, both adult and junior… along with SY-TRI and Salop Shufflers there really is something for everyone.
